Obituary of Wendy Lou Wilson

On Monday, March 18th, 2019, Wendy Lou Wilson passed away at age 38.  She was a loving, sweet wife as well as best friend to many.  Her death came as a shock to all that knew and loved her.  A small comfort is that she didn't suffer.
Wendy was born June 4, 1980 in Battle Creek, MI to Jack and Vickie Weakley.  She lived in Marshall, MI with her parents and siblings, graduating high school in 1999.  Wendy proudly worked at McDonalds for 8 years.  After meeting Merlin Wilson in October of 2005 and going through a passionate courtship, she accepted his marriage proposal on June 6, 2006.  Not long after, she moved to California with him as their bond and romance grew.  They married on April 19, 2011 in Salinas, CA.
Wendy was a passionate, talented storyteller as well as an avid reader.  She had many ongoing roleplaying stories going with countless different people.  In fact, she and Merlin courted and bonded over RPs and stories overall.  Combined with her artwork, she showed many in the world her multi-layered talents.
Wendy was also an amazing friend, brimming with a positive attitude and compassion for those she took into her family of friends.  If you needed a kind word, or a smile, or a pick-me-up of any kind, she was there, likely with a dirty joke to make you grin.  She did all this even when she felt arthritis pain or dealt with her anxiety.  She faced and beat breast cancer one year after marriage.
Wendy loved 80s music, anime, comedy, true crime, and ramen from Santouka at Mitsuwa Marketplace in San Jose, CA.  She loved the ocean, missed snow in her native Midwest, and was always up for an adventure, but she was also up for a long drive to nowhere and dozing in equal measure.  Wendy adored animals of all kinds, cats in particular.  Video games like World of Warcraft and Ovewatch were a passion of hers.
Her quick wit, brilliant, hungry mind, and beautiful laugh were infectious to all that knew her.  Once she was your friend, she was your friend for life.  Wendy was truly a once-in-a-lifetime woman, a star of love and light given human form.
Wendy is survived by her husband Merlin, her parents Jack and Vickie, sisters Jackie and Samantha, in-laws and countless friends and 'family' around the world.  Her love truly was boundless.
A funeral service will be held on April 3rd  at Healey Mortuary at 405 North Sanborn Road, Salinas, CA at 10 o'clock.  In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Wendy's name to the American Cancer Society, Planned Parenthood, or the American Humane Society.
