Obituary of Mary Lou Alvarez Vizcarra

Mary Lou was born in Presidio Texas to Carmen and Ofelia Alvarez. She went home to be with Jesus on April 3, 2020 at the age of 83. She was the eighth child of fourteen. She lived in Texas until age 5. Her Family moved to California and settled in Salinas. They lived in Camp McCallum.

Mary Lou loved God and served him until He called her home. She was very close to her siblings, and loved talking to them on the phone daily. She was loved and will be missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents Carmen and Ofelia Alvarez, her husband, Antonio Vizcarra, her siblings, Margaret, Ysmael, Estela, Samuel, Al “flaco”, Hector ‘Toche”, Hilda and Lina. Also preceded in death by her son Hector Chavez and grand children Daniel Sirle and Mary Chavez.

She is survived by her children Tiny Chavez, Deborah Chavez Whitlock, and Samuel (Nea) Vizcarra, her brothers Oscar (Gloria) Alvarez, Viviano (Grace) Alvarez, sisters Abigail Alvarez Martinez and Grace (Joe) Alvarez-Lujan 12 grandchildren and numerous great and great great grandchildren.

Private services have been held and a Celebration of Life will be held when possible.
