Obituary of Lucena B. deMateo

Lucena B. deMateo, 93yrs, passed away peacefully Friday, June 12th , 2020, at home surrounded by loving family.

Born July 1st, 1926 in Calbayog City, West Samar, Philippines.

She was preceded by her loving Husband, Leopoldo deMateo, and sisters Purita deMateo, Antonia delaCruz and Elena Renegado.

Lucena is survived by 2 sisters Asuncion deGuia and Luz deGuia Velasco; 4 sons, Rocky (Louise), Romeo (Tine), Ron (Lorraine), Arthur (Janis) and 11 wonderful grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren whom she Loved and adored. She also has numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.

Lucena lived in Salinas for past 68yrs. She was an amazing homemaker, Mother, Grandma and friend. She was a devoted Catholic parishioner. Lucena was a long-time loyal member of the 1st & 2nd Filipino Infantry Regiments Association; as well as the American Calbayog Women’s Club.

Visitation (with limitations) will be held at Healey Mortuary, Salinas, Ca. Wednesday, June 24th, 2020 from 1-9pm with a Rosary from 7-8pm.

Funeral Mass will be held at Madonna Del Sasso Catholic Church in Salinas, Ca., Thursday, June 25th, 2020, 1:00pm (with limitations)

Burial will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Salinas, Ca.
