Obituary of Carmen Vargas

Carmen Vargas “Mi Carmela” passed away on July 28, 2020 in Salinas, California. She was born in La Piedad Michoacán, Mexico on July 10, 1926 to Jose Vargas and Francisca Ayala. Carmen loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed playing Lotteria, listening to music, and coloring.

Carmen was survived by her children, Hermila Lopez and Gloria Hernandez (Erasmo Aguas); her brother, Antonio Vargas of La Piedad, Michoacán; her grandchildren, Isela Villafuerte (Larry), Brenda Perez (Juan), Sergio Fonseca (Anna), Alfredo Fonseca; her great grandchildren, Brittnie (Zach), Lorenzo (Joanna), Damian, Anthony, Aiden, Aubrey, King, Sammy, Sofia, Gissele, Marcos, Ivan and Niven. She is also survived by all her great grandbabies, Nathaniel, Oliver, Norah, Mavi, Loveah, Emilio, Nehemiah, Neveah, Jose and the newest great grandbaby born an hour later of her passing Zyah Carmelo.

She was preceded in death by her parents, several brothers and sisters and a grandson, Jesus Ernesto Lopez.

A visitation will be held outside at Healey Mortuary on Friday, August 7th from 4-8pm with a Service taking place at 5:30pm. On Saturday, August 8th her burial will take place at Queen of Heaven Cemetery at 10:45am followed by a Celebration of Life at the family home.
