Obituary of Ricardo G. Celaya

Ricardo G. Celaya, 87 of Salinas passed away peacefully on March 24th, 2021 at his home surrounded by loved ones. Ricardo was born on February 7th, 1934 to Luis Celaya and Perfecta Garcia in Wichita Falls, TX. He was a long time resident of Salinas, CA where he met the love of his life Josephine Valdez in 1965. He had a very strong work ethic and worked in the Agriculture Industry. Ricardo was dedicated and worked diligently to take care of his wife and children. He was a loving, caring and giving man. He was very family oriented and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. 

He is preceded in death by his wife Josephine Valdez, daughters Belen Celaya and Delia Rodriquez, son Antillio Joe Duarte and sister Maxima Celaya Valles.

He is survived by his children Gloria Valdez, Sylvia Rodriquez, Rosemary Duarte, Mona Parr, Louie Torres, Elliott Cervantes, Lupe Madriaga, Maggie Celaya and Ricardo Celaya Jr. And numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren,  great great grandchildren and one great great great grandchild. 

His memory will be cherished and kept alive. It was an honor for you to be our Father and Grandfather. We love you, and you will be missed dearly. 

Viewing will be held from 1-5p.m. Thursday, April 8, 2021, at Healey Mortruary, 405 N. Sanborn Road, Salinas, CA 93905. Funeral Mass will take place Friday, April 9, 2021, at Sacred Heart Church at 10a.m., 22 Stone Street, Salinas, CA 93901.

Burial to follow at Garden of Memories, 850 Abbott Street, Salians, CA 93901.
