Obituary of Consuelo Solorio Ruiz

Consuelo S. Ruiz passed away on October 22, 2021 at the age of 77. She was born in Yuma, Arizona on June 25, 1944 to Francisco Solorio and Sarah Ojeda Solorio. Consuelo was a very loving and caring person. She lived her life for her family and adored her dogs.

Consuelo retired from Social Security after 25 years of employment.  She enjoyed watching TV especially The Young and the Restless and football with her husband, Tom. Consuelo always enjoyed spending time with family at barbecues where her sons or husband would grill.  She loved photography and was especially fond of gardening, always enjoying her time tending to roses. One of her favorite things to do was to buy birthday cards and then add her own personal art and decorations to make them special for the family.

Consuelo was preceded in death by her parents, Francisco and Sara; her daughter, Sara Christina Ruiz; and her mother and father-in-law, Thomas and Consuelo Ruiz.  She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Thomas Ruiz; sons, Miguel “Mike” Ruiz (Dora) and Gilbert Steven Ruiz; grandchildren, Denielle, Ashlee, and Alyssa; and great-grandson Richie Ruiz. She is also survived by her only sister and five brothers, Teresa Kajitani, Francisco Solorio( Lily) Louie Solorio( Vickie) Armando Solorio ( Marcy) Carlos Solorio and Angel Solorio, as well as her brother and sister-in-law Richard Ruiz and Dolores Blount (Neil), and her dogs, Ozzy, Tyler, and Maya.

A visitation will take place on Tuesday, November 2nd from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Healy Mortuary Chapel with a Rosary Service starting at 3:00 p.m. Her Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, November 3rd at 10:00 a.m. at Madonna Del Sasso Church followed by burial at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Salinas.
