Obituary of Ricardo M. Jimenez
RICARDO M JIMENEZ BA, MFA passed away peacefully on April 21 at the home of his niece and goddaughter, Kimberly Jimenez Hell and grandnephew, Lukas Hell. He was surrounded and cared for by loving family members which included daughter, Julie Anne Barnes, from St. Louis, Missouri, brother, Ramon Jimenez, and sister-in-law Anne Jimenez, as well as, his niece, Katie Jimenez. He was further blessed by personal visits of family and friends from San Jose, Los Gatos, San Juan Bautista, and Fresno. He truly enjoyed virtual visits from sister, Olivia Brown and husband, George (Portland, OR); close friends David Porter; and Lucina and husband, Lupe (Fresno).
RICARDO (RIC), was born and raised in San Jose California. After service in the US Marine Corps, he graduated from San Jose State University. He was a teacher of Industrial Arts at Santa Clara County Juvenile Delinquent Center for 13 years. He suffered a work injury and underwent physical rehabilitation. This resulted in a vocational career change. He attained his Masters in Fine Arts at Fresno State University. Upon discovering his demonstrable and excellent talent as a painter in mixed media, he focused and created many beautiful and striking art pieces over the ensuing thirty years. Ricardo’s prolific work highlighted his objectives of being a colorist and creator of abstract expressionism. He had successful studios in Los Gatos and Borrego Springs, California. His signature work is entitled GIVERNY. Ric was inspired and awestruck when he visited Monet’s home in Giverny, France in the early 1980’s.
His home for the past 25-30 years has been in Fresno, California. He relished and enjoyed the fact that his property was surrounded by vineyards and fruit trees.
Ric can best be personified and described with the following words:
