Obituary of James Stuart Butler

James "Jimmy" Stuart Butler, age 58 of Salinas, California, passed away of natural causes at his home on Saturday, April 23, 2022.

Jimmy was born December 15, 1963, in Fort Ord, California to Brigitte Mendiola and James C. Butler.

He attended North High School and enjoyed many years working for Granite Construction, making our roads safer throughout Monterey County and the Bay Area.

Jimmy cherished his 1939 Chevy Coupe. He loved outdoor sports, especially spending as much time as possible at his friend Terry's ranch in Priest Valley. He enjoyed collecting antique rifles, pistols, swords, knives, and coins. Additionally, he loved creating 3D illusion mirrors and miniature cowboy hats. He had many great times barbequing at events as a past member of S.A.L. at the  American Legion - Post #31 in Salinas, Ca.  He will forever be known for his kind heartedness and for always going that extra mile for anyone in need.  Those who knew him well will remember his humor and his uncanny ability to make us smile.  His presence in our lives and the memories he has left us with will forever be embedded in our hearts and minds until our souls meet again. One of his quotes, “see ya when I’m looking at ya.”

Jimmy is survived by his girlfriend of 10 years, Irene Gutierrez, sisters Belinda Yuhas-Butler and Barbara Kapisi-Butler of North Fork, California, and brother Robert (Kerri) Trainer of Marina, Ca.  He is survived by his nephews,  Sean Trainer , Scott Trainer, Ivan Agcaoli,  Robert (Annie) Martin, Randy Butler, nieces, Kristen Thoeni, Shyann Agcaoli, Sierra Butler,  and grand-nieces, grand-nephews and cousins.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his father, James C. Butler and mother, Brigitte Mendiola, and brother,  Jerry W. Butler.

Private funeral services will be held at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, in Prunedale, Ca. alongside his mother.

A Celebration of Life is pending, and will be announced through this website and/or Facebook.
