Korina Gonzalez

Obituary of Korina Alyssa Gonzalez

Korina, born January 27, 1985, went to be with the Lord on August 27, 2022.

Korina was born in Brawley, CA to Manuel and Alejandra Magana. She was a migrant student as a child and spent her early years between Salinas, CA and Yuma, AZ. She attended Notre Dame High School and ultimately graduated from CSUMB with a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in marketing. In between those years she met Cristian Gonzalez at Hartnell Community College. Two unassuming students focused on school fell in love and encouraged each other to grow in faith and education. After college, Korina joined Cristian in Walnut Creek where they lived for several years until they slowly made their way back home with stops in Gilroy and Prunedale. It was Korina’s love for her three children that influenced her and Cristian to move back to Salinas so that their children could have a relationship with their grandparents and extended family. It was during this time that her faith and love for Jesus grew exponentially. Korina’s infectious smile, joyous laugh and beautiful soul will be missed by all, but we can rest assured knowing she is with the Lord.

She is survived by her husband, Cristian, her three children, Jocelyn, Levi and Olivia, her parents, Manuel and Alejandra, as well as her two brothers, Marcos and Adan.
