Obituary of Peggy Sue (Clinton) Taber
Peggy Sue (Clinton) Taber age 88, with family surrounding her, was lifted up to be with the Lord on September 12, 2022.
She had fought cancer for many years and asked that her journey be left in God's hands.
She accepted and acknowledged Jesus Christ, the Son of God as her Lord and Savior. Peggy was a member for many years of The Church of Christ.
She was born Peggy Sue Clinton, to Fowler and Mary Clinton on November 26, 1933. She was born in Wanette, Oklahoma and had 10 brothers and sisters.
She moved to California in 1946 and graduated from Salinas High School in 1951.
She is preceded in death by her late husband, Raymond Dale Taber.
Peggy and Ray were wed March 14, 1953 and were married for 62 years. Peggy leaves behind four daughters: Karen Ricigliano (Anthony), Vanessa Taber, Barbara Briley (Patrick) and Debi Crabill.
Our mom was always a sweetheart. She had sparkling blue eyes and a beautiful smile. She was cheerful and a joy to be with. She had a quick wit about her and loved family visits.
She was the reigning champion at the Taber house, beating us all, hundreds of times, playing Chinese Checkers. She loved to play Skip Bo with the grandkids and was famous for her apple pie and corn bread.
She could play the piano by ear, play the ukulele and sew anything you asked her to make from wedding dresses, blankets, clothes to surfboard bags.
She loved her drawing books, shopping and crossword puzzles.
Peggy had many jobs throughout her life, and also volunteered at Memorial Hospital, as a Guest Service Ambassador. She enjoyed all of that, but was most rewarded being a wife, mother (mom, ma, mumsy), grandmother and great-grandmother (G.G.)
Peggy had 10 Grandchildren and 14 Great Grandchildren. We want to thank our mom's care team, Ched, Delia, Eliza, The Loving Hearts Agency, Bridge Hospice, her many physicians, friends and extended family who were there for her journey to heaven. She has a new beginning in the Lord's House. Mom, we will Love You Forever and miss you tremendously. Every minute with you was a blessing, give Dad a hug and we will see you again.
Mom was once quoted to say, "Don't mourn my death, celebrate my life." A private family Celebration will be held under the arrangements of Healey Mortuary.
