Obituary of Rosario Pulido

On April 19th, Rosario Pulido affectionately known as “Chayito” passed away at the age of 99 years young. Rosario was born in Queneo, Michoacan, Mexico on October 7, 1923. She was proceeded in death by her loving husband Jose Pulido, two adult sons Jesus and Juan, and two minor children.

Jose and Rosario met in Cotija, Michoacan and married in December of 1945, and spent the next 64 years as a loving couple.  They raised a large loving family.

They eventually migrated to Salinas, California. They proudly became US Citizens and lived in Salinas for the remainder of their lives.

Rosario was a devout Catholic and served several roles in the church including teaching numerous catechism classes. She lived as she believed. We will all miss her sense of humor, her wit, her sass, her love and kindness and her cooking. Rosario was never shy about sharing advise always with God and Catholicism as a basis for her beliefs.

She is survived by nine children Jose Pulido, Maria Maldonado, Carmen Barragan, Javier Pulido, Lupe Garcia, Antonio Pulido, Salvador Pulido, Elena Gonzalez, Martha Carvey and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren all of whom she adored.

Rosario instilled her values into the next generations and undoubtedly her spirit will live on through her large family. She will be missed.

Her viewing will be Thursday, April 27th from 1-5pm with a Rosary Prayer Service at 4pm at Healey Mortuary Chapel.  Her Mass will be Friday, April 28th at 9:30am at Sacred Heart Church, followed by burial at Garden of Memories Memorial Park in Salinas.
