Obituary of Ernest H. Millegan

The family of Ernest Millegan shares the news of his passing. Ernest was born in McKinney,Texas on January 29, 1937 to Willie Millegan and Odessa Miles.   At an early age, he lived with his Grandmother Rosia Stewart in Phoenix AZ until the age of 13 when he joined his mother in Monterey, Ca. He graduated from Monterey High School in 1957.

Ernest joined the Air Force in April 1958 where he proudly served his country during the Vietnam War rising to the Rank of Master Sargent. While serving in the military across the world, his last assignment was at the Pentagon in Washington DC. There he managed the computer operations for the most complex systems. He retired from the United States Air Force after completing 23 years of active duty. Following his retirement he returned to his Seaside home on the Monterey Peninsula. It was there that he proudly assisted his mother until her death. They both enjoyed playing card games together and he was always ready to play anyone a good game of chess.

Ernest is survived by his sister Betty Millegan, two sons Michael Millegan, Marquis Millegan,  and granddaughter Whitney Millegan. He was also honored to have many cousins  who he shared love with and one special Aunt, Paula London whom he considered to be his sister. The family offers special thanks to his partner Harriet Miles who stood by his side until the very end.

A visitation will be Tues, May 16th from 4-7pm with a Funeral Service on Wed. May 17th at 11am all at New Hope Baptist Church.  His burial with Military Honors will take place Thurs. May 18th at 11am at California Central Coast Veterans Cemetery.
