Life Legacy Frank Burdine Nelson, 85, beloved Husband, Brother, Father and Grandfather,, passed away on November 7, 2014 in Salinas. He was born on February 12, 1929 in Gulfport, Mississippi. He had proudly served in the U.S. Army during 1950-1953 and received a Purple Heart with an honorable discharge. He went on to work in the building trades as a carpenter for over 40 years. With great pride, Frank dedicated over 4000 hours to Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital as a volunteer in the Emergency Room. He was a member of the V.F. W. Post #31 of Salinas. Frank enjoyed lake trips and RV'ing with his wife, Pearl. He will be greatly missed. Frank is survived by, his daughters, Debra (Randy) Siler of Salinas, Cathy (Mike) McCauley of Salinas and Judy (Bill) Donovan of Salinas; son, Danny (Sheila) Nelson of Bonanza, OR, along with seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survive. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 58 years, Pearl Nelson; parents, Charles and Josephine Nelson, brothers, Robert and Sunny and his sister, Katherine. Inurnment with full Military Honors to take place on Thursday, November 20, 2014 at 10am the Garden of Memories Cemetery 850 Abbott St. Salinas, CA 93901.
