Richard Mazzotta, 71, of Salinas, died at his home Friday, September 14, 2007. He was born in Providence, Rhode Island on April 6, 1936. Richard lived in California for the past 10 years after he relocated from Providence, to marry Rose Anna. Richard was a very active member of the Masons and was presently serving as Secretary of Salinas Lodge #204, and serving on the Salinas Temple Board.
Richard was also a member of his Mother Lodge, Adelphoi Lodge #33 in Rhode Island. He was 32nd Degree Mason, a Past Master and secretary. He was a Shriner Clown and spent a great deal of time visiting the Shriner Hospitals, bringing joy to the children there. He loved his days as "Ringo the Clown" and was very active in the clown unit.
He was known for his sense of humor, great storytelling and his easy- going personality. He made friends every where he went and will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege to know him.
