Obituary of Salvador Mondragon

Salvador Mondragon, 72, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Friday, September 30, 2011 at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital. A resident of Salinas for over 30 years, he worked as an irrigator. Fondly known as "El Gallero", Salvador was a dedicated father who was willing to offer his love to all his children, grandchildren, and friends. He was a hard worker who dedicated his life in loving his wife, "Su Viejita". A powerful man, he was the "El Leon de la montana". Salvador will live on in our hearts and minds forever. Salvador is survived by his daughters, Martina (Valentin) Guerara, Leticia (Ricardo) Santos, Maria (Sergio) Marquez, and Griselda (Everardo) Lopez, all of Salinas, his Sons, Gerardo (Ines) Mondragon, Salvador Mondragon, and Armando (Felicitas) Mondragon, all of Salinas. He is also survived by his sisters, Petra and Amparo Mondragon, and a brother, Hector Mondragon, all of Mexico. He leaves 19 Grandchildren, one Great Grandchild, and numerous Nieces, Nephews, and other loving family member. Salvador is preceded in death by his loving wife, Maria del Carmen Pina, three Brothers, and a Sister. Visitation will held from on October 5, 2011 1-9pm with Rosary Recital 7pm all at Healey Mortuary 405 N. Sanborn Rd. Salinas, CA 93905. A Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday, October 6, 2011 10am at St. Mary of the Nativity Church 424 Towt St. Salinas, CA 93905. Burial will follow at the Garden of Memories Cemetery 850 Abbott St. Salinas, CA 93905.
