Obituary of Lionel Wesley Brooks

Lionel Wesley Brooks, Sr. age 79, went home to be with our Lord and Savior on December 9, 2022.  He passed away peacefully in Tomball, Texas after a severe illness.  

Lionel was born on November 23, 1943 in Monroe, Louisiana.  He was the middle child of three, born to Lewis Felton Brooks, Sr., and Mary Lou Brooks.  His father was in the U.S. Army and at the age of nine, the family moved to Ft. Ord, California.  

He attended and graduated from Monterey High School in 1961.  He later resumed his education studying Business Adminstration at Hartnell College.  While pursuing his education, he worked as an Orderly at Natividad Medical Center.  

Lionel was known as a God-fearing man.  He dedicated his life to Christ in 1959 at Victory Temple Church of God in Christ in Seaside, California.  

Lionel leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved wife Sherel, sons Lionel Broods, Jr. (Melissa), Shawn Brooks, Sr. (Tammy Lee), (Kasey Lamb), 11 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and his eldest brother Lewis F. Brooks, and many other family members and friends.  

Viewing for Lionel will take place Wednesday, December 28, 2022 beginning at 10am at Greater Victory Temple COGIC in Seaside, California.  Following the viewing his Funeral Service will begin at 11am at the church and immediately following his burial will take place at Mission Memorial Park in Seaside, California.
