Obituary of Billie Joyce McBride

Billie Joyce McBride passed away on January 1, 2024 at the age of 91. She passed peacefully while holding her son’s hand at her bedside. 

Joyce was born in Oklahoma and moved to California with her family during the dust bowl. In addition to raising two children, she devoted over 30 years to the Monterey County Sheriff’s Department. Joyce was a devout follower of Christ and dedicated a significant portion of her life to the Lord’s teachings. She enjoyed Bible study and congregating with fellow church parishioners. 

Joyce was preceded in death by her father, Paul Minchew; her mother, Lois Leola Minchew; her daughter Toni Rae McBride and her siblings Eddie Mae Brown, Lois Robinson and Byron Minchew. She is lovingly remembered by her son, Ron McBride and his wife, Luana McBride; her daughter, Colleen Wilson; her niece, Paula Robinson; along with her 5 grandchildren Stephanie Thune Gillham, Ryan Thune, Alissa McBride, Christopher Wilson & Briana Wilson. 

A service to honor and lay Joyce to rest will be held graveside at Garden of Memories in Salinas, California, on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at 1 pm.
