Obituary of Jon Olvera

Jonathan Rodney Olvera passed away on February 22, 2024.  He was born on November 21, 1965 in Salinas, Ca to Joe Manuel and Rosie Olvera. 

Jon had a big heart.  He was loving, caring, compassionate and very forgiving.  He was the type of person who would give the shirt off his back if you were in need.  He knew how to liven up a room with his quirky sense of humor.  That was something we all loved about him. 

He will always be remembered for his love and knowledge of the outdoors and nature.  He was a true outdoorsman.  Jon had a great love and passion for playing his musical instruments and singing his heart out.  He was highly intelligent; if you didn’t know the answer to something Jonathan knew.  He was also a Jack of All Trades, our “Mr. Fix It”.

There was nothing he loved more than his family.  Our Jon will forever remain in our hearts.  Gone too soon but never forgotten. 

Jon was preceded in death by his father, Joe Manuel.  He is survived by his daughters, Sara Olvera Untalon and Jona Olvera; grandkids, Roxie, Aaliyah, Malaki, Nehemiah, and Nethaniel; mother, Rosie; sisters, Cindy Salazar and Terrie Meza; brothers, Joe Martin and Stephen Olvera; 3 nephews and 3 nieces; as well as many extended family members. 

Jon’s viewing will be Thursday, February 29^th from 1-6pm with a Rosary Service at 5pm at Healey Mortuary Chapel.  His Funeral will be Friday, March 1^st at 12pm at Healey Mortuary Chapel followed by burial at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Prunedale.
