Obituary of Fernando Bucol Uy

Fernando Bucol Uy, beloved father, son, brother, and friend, passed away on March 3, 2024, surrounded by his loving family at the age of 71. Fernando was born on May 30, 1952, in the Philippines.

Fernando was a devoted father to his daughter, Lea Remollio Uy. He cherished family above all else and created a home filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Fernando’s greatest joy came from spending time with his daughter, that he adored beyond measure.

He was faced with life’s challenges with grace, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to call him a friend.

Fernando is survived by his loving daughter, Leah, his cherished sister, Vilma Sumagang, along with all his nieces and nephews who miss him dearly. He is preceded in death by his beloved mother, Estilita Uy, who awaited him with open arms in heaven and shortly after his passing his brother, Dioscoro Bucol Uy (Boy) joined them both.

His viewing will be Thursday, March 14, 2024 from 1-6pm with a Rosary Prayer Service at 4pm at Healey Mortuary Chapel.  The Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, March 15, 2024 at 1pm at St. Mary’s Church in Salinas, where friends and family will gather to honor his memory and share stories of his remarkable life.  Following he will be laid to rest at Garden of Memories Memorial Park in Salinas.

Though Fernando may no longer walk among us, his spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who were touched by his love and kindness. May he rest in eternal peace, knowing that he was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.
